Relate 4 Parents
Who is it for?
This service is open to any parent who just needs a bit of help, advice and support, regardless of whether : you are living with your children, are a single parent, a step-parent, are separating, or are a separated parent. The only criteria is that you are able to focus on the needs of your child and collaborate to improve your relationship with them.
What is Relate 4 Parents?
Relate 4 Parents is a service that offers specialist support, advice and information designed to enhance your parenting skills, extend your knowledge of your child's development and behaviour, and gain insight into some of the issues they may be struggling with.
When you make an appointment, one of our specialist team will meet with you and discuss your specific areas of concern before agreeing with you what kind of help and resources would best help you. The kind of topics that might be in your sessions are:
- Parenting styles
- Child development
- Stages of childhood and adolescence
- Talking to your child
- Common mental health issues
- Sibling relationships
- Sharing parental care
- Youth culture
- New parents - changing the relationship dynamic
- Setting boundaries
Your counsellor will also make suggestiuons for reading materials and other useful resources.
The service is delivered in up to 3 weekly sessions with each lasting 50 minutes.
Cost: Suggested £50 per session. Relate is a charity and we do not receive any government funding.
